The 2025 revision
ISO 37001 was revised in 2025. If you trained on the original 2016 edition, the structure and expectations have moved, particularly around risk assessment methodology and the treatment of third parties. This course teaches the current version, from an auditor's perspective: what evidence to look for, and how to evaluate conformity rather than just implement it.
Why this matters for Australian organisations
Australia's foreign bribery regime was substantially strengthened by the Crimes Legislation Amendment (Combatting Foreign Bribery) Act 2024, which introduced a corporate offence of failing to prevent foreign bribery, with an "adequate procedures" defence. A certified anti-bribery management system is evidence of adequate procedures, and organisations need auditors who can assess one properly. Course content
1. Introduction to the ABMS and ISO 37001
Fundamental concepts, ISO 37001 requirements and the certification process.
2. Audit principles and planning
Fundamental audit concepts, risk- and evidence-based auditing, and initiating the audit.
3. On-site audit activities
Stage 2 audit execution, communication during the audit and audit procedures.
4. Closing the audit
Drafting findings and nonconformity reports, evaluating action plans and managing an audit programme.
Exam and certification
Open-book written exam delivered online through PECB Exams. Duration: 3 hours.
Your fee includes your first exam attempt and one free retake within 12 months. After passing, you can apply for the relevant PECB credential.
